A Story of Unwavering Strength

The Day Everything Changed
I don't remember much from January 1, 2020, but I've been told the details. I was in a car that was stolen by a drunk driver, and we ended up hitting the center divider. The impact was severe, and a large part of my skull had to be removed due to brain swelling. It was a terrifying start to a new year, and my life changed in an instant. Looking back, it feels surreal, almost like a dream, but the reality of what happened quickly set in as I began my long road to recovery.

The Road to Recovery: One Step at a Time
My initial recovery was spent entirely in the hospital. For a full year, I dedicated myself to inpatient physical therapy, working tirelessly to regain strength and function. Every day was a challenge, but with each small victory, I found the motivation to keep going. The therapists were amazing, pushing me when I needed it and celebrating every milestone alongside me. It was a period of intense learning and rebuilding, both physically and mentally.

Embracing the Future: My Continued Journey
Now, I'm back home, and my rehabilitation journey continues. I'm still working with a therapist who comes to my house, and I'm committed to making progress every single day. This experience has taught me so much about resilience and the incredible capacity we all have to heal and adapt. My journey isn't over, but I'm filled with hope and determination for what's next. I want my story to be an inspiration to anyone facing similar challenges—never give up, keep fighting, and believe in your ability to overcome.
