My Home Rehab Journey

Hey everyone! It's me again, sharing a bit more about my personal journey after the stroke. You know, getting back on my feet after that ruptured brain aneurysm in my cerebellum was a huge challenge – it really messed with my balance and coordination, felt like I was learning to walk all over again. The physical therapy room was my starting point, but I quickly realized that to really keep moving forward, that's why I decided to build a home gym setup that worked for me.

These are "Lex-Loops", tie one end to a support anchor and the other around your ankle and do all kinds of leg lifts or pulls. See pic below

This is my 8 lbs. medicine ball (I also do this with my 10 lbs. kettle bell). Swing it around to force you to tighten up and hold yourself solid and try not wobble while you swing it around.

Its tricky not to wobble while it moves you around, but that's how I sharpened my core and my balance

I used (still do) resistance bands anchored so that it pulls me in whatever direction I face. Again, keep tight and don't let it move you.

Tired of feeling lost in your rehab journey? You're not alone.

When I was navigating my stroke recovery, there was no map—just endless confusion and frustration. That's why I wrote the instruction manual I wish I had.

My book, Beyond Shattered, isn't just a memoir; it's the blueprint for your comeback. It gives you the clear strategies, the fierce motivation, and the mental frameworks you need to push past plateaus and conquer the unseen 80% of recovery.
