Welcome to
Beyond The Shatter.
I built this place because when I needed it most, it did not exist. A community where survivors are seen, caregivers are honored, and nobody has to figure out this road alone. Whether you are a survivor trying to find your footing, a caregiver running on empty, or a family member who does not know where to turn — this is where you belong.
If you are looking for the honest conversation about what recovery actually looks like — start here.
Everything here — the education, the stories, the resources, the community — was built with one person in mind. The person I was on October 7th, 2012, when my world shattered and I looked around for someone who understood and could not find them.
I see you. I have been there. And I am not going anywhere.
You are in the right place.
The Army of Warriors Your Story Belongs Here
Every survivor has a story worth telling. Not just the dramatic moments — the coma, the diagnosis, the first steps. The whole thing. The frustration. The small wins nobody else noticed. The moment something shifted and you realized you were still in the fight.
That story is a lifeline for someone who is exactly where you were six months ago. One year ago. Five years ago. They need to read it. They need to know it is possible.
The Army of Warriors is a free program — always — that gives your story a dedicated page on BeyondtheShatter.com, an official Certified Warrior certificate with your name on it, a QR code that links directly to your page, and custom business card prints to have made and share your story with the world. I build every page personally. You do the interview. We do the writing. Your legacy does the rest.

These are just two of our always growing soldiers.
I am the person I could not find when I needed him most.
On October 7th, 2012, I woke up from a six-week coma with no roadmap, no community, and no one who had been exactly where I was and came back to show me the way. I built Beyond The Shatter because that is not good enough. No survivor should have to navigate this road alone. No caregiver should either.
So I did two things.
I built this community. And I wrote the book I wish someone had handed me on discharge day.
Beyond Shattered is the honest account of what stroke recovery actually looks like — and the practical wisdom that comes from 14 years of living it. If you are a survivor looking for the truth about this road, it was written for you. If you are a caregiver trying to understand what the person you love is going through, it was written for you too.
